Thanksgiving 2009

It was a quiet Thanksgiving celebration this year. As well, it should have been. With everything we have been through this year, we have so much to be thankful for.

I am so grateful for my two wonderful children. Every day I wake, I thank my Heavenly Father for sending them into my life. I hug and kiss my kids so many times each day they beg for me to stop. I want them to never forget that they come from a family of love.

I am so grateful for my dear husband who works hard to support our family. This economy has hit everyone and we are no exception. Every day Ken goes in to the office we are grateful that he has an office to go to. It is our hope that we will continue to be blessed in this way.

We are so grateful for the gospel! How blessed we are to belong to the true church of Jesus Christ! How wonderful to be a part of the restored gospel that is the one and same as the church established by the Lord when he was here on Earth. I am grateful for callings that keep us active and for kids who enjoy going to Seminary and Sunday School. I am truly blessed! I am blessed to have two priesthood holders in my home. Oh what a comfort this blessing brings!

I am grateful for friends and family who have sacrificed their time to be with me and listen and grieve with me this past year, no matter the hour of the day or night. This has been the greatest of blessings. It is amazing how quickly people run away from those grieving for fear of saying something wrong. I am grateful for those who took seriously the scripture that admonishes: Where were you when I was hungry? Grieving? etc (literary license here) How grateful I am for those who cried with me. Emailed me nearly every day. Talked to me at late night hours. I am grateful!

Here are a few pictures of our Thanksgiving Day. We enjoyed a quiet meal, took a walk by the pond, visited with my Granddad, Aunt and Cousins, and closed the day out with a movie.
